I'm not sure why I keep getting jobs that have NOTHING to do with what I am searching for? Half of the list are jobs for truck drivers, sales reps, or service technicians? I understand that I just graduated with my Bachelors degree in psychology and need an entry level job, but why do I keep getting list ( about half of the jobs I receive) that require Masters or Doctorate, or that are bot even closely related to what I am looking for?

I admit I don't know everything. Yet their are those on this site that may know more and assist you with the resources that you are trying to acquire. Your not alone.

Hi Brianna, Please consider what Paul is saying as well as Allysa. They are accurate with the wording of your resume. Head hunters and recruiters look for certain wording within your resume. For example, sales, customer service, etc... you will get leads to every job within those words. Most will be irrelevant to your positions of choice. It is driven by computer software, and not a breathing person who filters jobs out. That task unfortunately is yours in your job search. Much luck to you

Hi Brianna,

I am curious, does your resume have a summary section like your profile here does? If it does and they both have the same text, you do use the words masters and PHD in your summary and that might be triggering the irrelevant jobs you are hearing about. Maybe try changing that, if you do have the same summary?

Hi Brianna,

I completely understand your frustration with getting emails for jobs that are completely unrelated to you. I did a little search for psychology type jobs in your area which should only need a bachelors degree. You can check them out here:

http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search?q=psychology%3B+bachelor+degree&l=29054&r=25&group=company&sources%5B%5D=CareerBuilder&sources%5B%5D=Indeed&sources%5B%5D=Jobcase

Even if they ask for a minimum of time for experience, don't be afraid to apply and go for it! Making yourself stand out is what will help you get what you are looking for!

Best of luck!

It may be that there are words on my resume that are causing the other jobs to appear, but I don't know how to change my resume without affecting what needs to be on there.

I would love to work at a hospital if I had an opportunity to get an entry level that did not require Masters, certifications or a doctorate.

Is there the possibility, that you may not have signified what you actually decided what you want to pursue and the only experience that's being viewed is your managerial skill which can be related to these jobs. I've had offers from similar companies that were unrelated perhaps due to what was present on my resume. I had to re-rewrite my resume by removing certain classifications. Your confusion may be eliminated. Have you thought about becoming an ex tern for a Veteran's Affairs Hospital and or any other major hospital that has your degrees in Psychology?
