Account Scams

Hi everyone! I just wanted to warn everyone that phishing scams are firing up. I have received 3 of them in the past week! They look like they're from legitimate businesses (mine were from Chase, Wells Fargo and PayPal), stating that "...several unsuccessful attempts have bern made to access your account..." and that I need to click on the link to verify my account settings or my accounts will be suspended. Well, I knew two of them were scams because I don't have accounts through those "businesses". I notified Chase and sent them the email. They confirmed that it was indeed a phishing scam and don't send any information to it.
Please be careful with these emails. If in doubt, call the business directly and find out if it truly was from them. Have a blessed and happy 2017!

Thanks for letting us know, Tammy! Scammers are very good at making their emails look legit, but there are usually a few small tells. Sometimes it's a weird-looking logo, or the email address having the wrong domain, sometimes it's typos or bad grammar. When in doubt, though, ALWAYS contact the company before clicking on something suspicious. Glad you have a good sense of things!
