The Waiting Game
The one thing that takes forever in the job hunting process, is the waiting game. You do millions of interviews, video interviews, phone interviews, face to face interviews, and you know in ur heart and mind you nailed them. But now it's the waiting for that special call or email saying "Your Hired" I watch my phone check my emails 80 times a day but still...Waiting ....

I'm of the opinion that waiting is what I'll do when I'm dead. If someone hasn't hired me right now then they're rolling dice on whether they'll be able to have me.

The waiting game is tough ill agree. It usually happens this way for me. I end up getting offered a couple of jobs at the same time and then an forced to choose. I have to admit i do not like or agree with tbe way tbe hiring process has been pimped out by all of these job board services and still believe that just getting out and going in person to meet employers is the best way to get hired even if it requires an online application going directly to the organziation for me has always been the best way. This should especially be done in non corporate America

I KNOW I have no patience for WAITING!! GOOD LUCK UL GET A GREAT JOB I ON THE OTHER HAND HAVE A HARD TIME BC OF LACK OF EDUCATION BUT IF THEY COULD ONLY SEE HOW LOVING I AM WITH ALL!!

I think there are two major factors involved with wait time.
- What is the size of the pool of candidates that were interviewed?
- What is the size of the company?
There is almost ALWAYS a delay with larger companies, regardless of the number of candidates that interviewed for the position. That being said, if you have both factors in play, it can create a long wait period.
I think the key is to keep in touch and express interest while you wait. Maybe do that once per week or so?
Also, when interviewing for a position, make sure you make it known that you hold the company in high regard, and that you think you would be an great fit for the position. I would do this multiple times...especially if you have multiple interviews.

happened to me.. yes it’s the waiting time i don’t know why they don’t have a minute of their time to call and say - hey i hired u but it didn’t work out with the big boss etc. it’s like etiquette they wasted our time too

Did you submit a thank you letter?
It's a good way to let the prospective employer know that you're still interested.
All the best!

Make sure you [follow up] (https://www.jobcase.com/conversations/3a2695c7-ced7-5bea-af4e-8789f758e97b) with the companies as well Richard Tatum .
Also, if you have found that you are not hearing back from jobs or landing as many interviews as you'd like, the issue might be your resume.
If a company uses what’s called a [applicant tracking system] (https://www.thebalance.com/what-is-an-applicant-tracking-systems-ats-2061926) your resume could be slipping through the cracks.
The ATS is a program that companies use to sort through 1,000’s of resumes to find the best possible ones. If it doesn’t recognize what it needs, your resume will be cast aside and likely NEVER be seen by an actual person at that company.
To avoid being passed over, utilize [keywords] (https://www.jobscan.co/blog/top-resume-keywords-boost-resume/) in your resume. When recruiters search for them, they are looking for certain skills in your resume that match up with what THEY need.
Say for example you are applying for a job as the manager of a hotel restaurant, a recruiter may search for phrases such as “restaurant manager” and “hotel restaurant” or search for the word “hospitality.”
Recruiters are not going to search for words and phrases such as “outgoing” and “hard worker.” This is because keywords highlight your skills, not your traits.
Take some time to make a list of yours and add them to the work experience section of your profile so your resume is noticed. Not sure what skills you should add? Check [these out] (https://www.thebalancecareers.com/list-of-the-best-skills-for-resumes-2062422).
Make sure to keep applying, these things take time. You have got this!
