Speed limiters

My rant is speed limiters or governed trucks ,I know it all about saving fuel and $ on insurance ,but I feel that we're the professional driver doing this for a living ,why do they need to regulate our speed when they don't regulate a driver of a motorvehicle that has little to no experience literally ,like a teenager can get into a vehicle and drive any speed they want ,I don't see any benefit to having speed limiters on commercial vehicles other than to regulate the profits of the company owners because 1) it saves on overall fuel mpg 2) it limits the amount of miles that they have to pay per day &most of us are paid by the mile ,so they get away from paying overtime &holiday pay ,personally I believe it causes fatigue &stress ,also inattentive driving because the drivers just set and forget it

most drivers need to be in a governed truck.if they governors off the accident rate would be unreal.the roads would like a war zone.if u dont like ur speed limited, either go buy ur own or find a job where the trucks arent governed.in the meantime quit whining.for a driver to be able to go as fast as they want to i think they should have at least 10 years of experience.

Driver at Lighthouse Transportation

I don't believe what I'm reading. I have and own governor trucks. Reason number 1 hot rodding truck. Reason 2 costly repairs for blowed motors and suspension for hitting bumps. Number 3 I pay the repair bills not the driver. Number 4 bad for business if they see my truck going 100 mph down the road bad words about my business will fly. I could write a book on this. The company don't trust people to give you the speed you want. They pay the bill and the price of repairs. If you are DOT in most states not only does the driver get a ticket but so does the company..

A company I worked for said the insurance was the ones that made them govern their trucks

Unfortunately most laws for day to truck drivers is in response to the steering wheel holder

Yes, YOU'RE a responsible and careful driver, but are you so sure about the guy in the next lane? It's too late to discipline him after his reckless driving has killed someone. Better to limit his speed, like everyone else's.
