Over a year ago, this was my post....

March 19, 2018 I won't give up

I was on my last job 24 years and have now been unemployed almost 9 months. During those 9 months off I went to school for a different career and received my certificate and will take certification test in July. Its just hard when you have the skills but they asking for 1-2 years experience. I'm sure it's something out there for me but I also know it's in Gods timing. Although it looks cloudy sometimes, I won't give up!

Well, 4 months after this post, I landed an interview that went very well BUT just didn’t have that hands-on experience. I took my chances to ask if they allow people to do externships(work without pay) to get the hands on experience and they said yes. The programmed I received my certificate in approved my externship (even when I was past the deadline to qualify for externship) and I began the externship in August and started on the payroll as a temporary employee in September. I am happy to say that I am STILL currently there as a temp when it was supposed to be over in December. Not only that, they offered me a full time position back when they hired me for temp but I just couldn’t except due to the hours and being available to commute and pick up my daughter from school. GREATFULLY, they still offered me the position and allowed me to work the hours with that best worked for me. It’s part time but it’s PERFECT for my schedule. God is good and just want to encourage someone out there, when you put your trust completely in God, in his timing, it will happen. It’s now going on 1 year that I’ve been getting experience in the new field that I’m in. To God Be the Glory!
