Lost Transcripts!
I have been employed now for over 2 months, fully trained and ready to roll for a major insurance company. I was put on administrative leave approximately three weeks ago due to an incomplete background check. Turns out after 34 years my high school has lost my transcripts and never enrolled. My college was shut down by the State of California. Even with letters from my adviser and principal and students who attended my graduation, the district will not accept that. The state of California states they are still working on receiving transcripts from several colleges at this time, and do not have mine yet, but the case will remain open. I have over 18 years as a RE agent and over 4 years as an office manager for a healthcare agency. Any suggestions for me before my current company lets me go since nothing can be verified?
Hi Dina: Oh my god, that sounds awful! Quick question - when you reached out to the state, did you reach out to their licensing agency to see if they've stored your records? Apparently that's where transcripts go when schools are closed down. Here's a little more information: https://answers.ed.gov/link/portal/28022/28025/Article/667/Transcripts-from-closed-schools I would also see if you can contact an employment lawyer about this. They usually offer free consultations, so it's worth looking into to see if you're protected by law against situations like this. Let me know if this helps!
