MY DREAM JOB CALLED FOR A 2ND INTERVIEW!
I GOT A SECOND INTERVIEW!! FOR MY DREAM JOB!!! I am so happy! I've waited out for this job which directly coincides with my college education. I have a BS in biology, chemistry minor. This morning, they called and asked me to schedule an interview immediately, which leads me to believe they are filling one position because the job is not on their website. It is a quality control lab technician job for a federal job. The pay is the best in the state. I've interviewed with them before and was beat out by inside employees. I feel like I get so nervous during interviews. Does anyone have any interview pointers before I enter this panel interview? ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!!!

So you passed your first interview, and the company liked you enough to ask you to a second interview. That is great news! Yes interviews are filled with pressure and you hope to answer the questions correctly. What i tried to do on my second interview was connect with the interviewer on another level. Anything you can think of that will be familiar to the interviewer. During my 2nd interview i told the person that i got training at company "X". He said he used to work there. So then i ran with that. And i did get the job.

Just be your self and get all the information you can get about the job and then since you got a 2nd interview you might get hired. I am 65 and still getting interviews i just take it one step at a time and then maybe i will have a job. I just want to say Good Luck

Good luck and God bless

You know what, they called you back for a 2nd interview. You must have something they like. Be positive and forthright and you will prevail.

Just be yourself, your educated and like they say, picture the person doing the interview as one of your educators and you trying to prove them wrong. I'm 67 and still going to interviews, I just act like it some bullshit session, usually manager act like they know what they're talking about, that's why I call it a bullshit session, if they don't hire me I figure it's their loss. Good luck, like I tell my daughter, you can do it.

Be confident, be realistic, be your true self. Let them know what you have to offer. Discuss your familiarity with the job. Push your way through the door and get to work. Show an urgency to be there, such as I'll be coming now.

There is no foolproof formula for interview success. Know as much as possible about the company and the job and just speak the truth

Now that you've passed the first interview, do as MUCH research as you can about the company as though you were an EXPERT and have been working there for a long time and be very confident about your ability to perform all of the expectations of the role. Demonstrate your passion for the position and how well your background, experience and education are in perfect alignment for this role. And remember to get ALL of the contact information from those who interview you next so you can send thank you notes. This should help you solidify your candidacy for the role.
I worked for the VA Medical center in Huntington WV for 30 yrs as Chief Physical Therapist. If a Vet has applied he or she will get it first. Insiders go by Union rules. Allows them to move from jobs to others if qualified. Good luck. PS. You have to reapply every yr
