What do you need to work at ALDI?

If you’re interested in a career with ALDI, you'll need to be at least 18 years old.

In general, candidates aren't required to submit proof of a high school diploma, transcripts, or GED when applying online. The only exception is for district manager applicants, who must submit an official college transcript.

Once you've completed the online application, you may be invited to go through an interview process. It usually takes between two to three interviews. For example, there can be one phone screen, an in-person group interview, and an individual in-person interview.

The onboarding process includes a full background check and drug screening test.

When you're ready to apply, create an account and submit an online application. If there are no jobs in your area right now, you can sign up for job alerts.

Make sure your details are valid because you'll get email updates regarding your application status. Expect to receive a response within two weeks.

Job applicants who pass the interview will receive a conditional offer of employment. Before you can start work, you'll need to complete a few onboarding requirements. For example, there's paperwork to fill out, and you'll need to discuss your preferred start date.

You'll also need to pass a background check and a drug test.

Does ALDI do a background check?

Toward the end of the ALDI hiring process, you'll need to go through a background check. ALDI will verify your previous employment and educational records to make sure you've been honest on your resume.

The company is also interested in your criminal history. ALDI wants to know its employees and customers are safe, and the hiring manager will use the information from your criminal record to make the final decision. Your report will show both misdemeanors and felony convictions.

If the role involves driving, ALDI may look at your driving records. For some senior roles, they'll also do a credit check.

Got something on your record? Be honest during the employment application process. If you've made changes to your lifestyle, ALDI may still give you the position.

The ALDI background screenings go back at least seven years. Potential employees will need to pass a drug screen test.
