What is a high school equivalency (HSE)?

If you didn’t complete high school, you still have options. You can pursue a high school equivalency (HSE). An HSE gets you the same benefits of finishing high school. There are 3 accepted HSE exams that are offered (depending on the state you live in):

• The General Educational Development (GED®) test
• The High School Equivalency Test (HiSET)
• The Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC)

Why is it important to have your HSE or GED?

• Qualify for more jobs
  Whether or not you have a job now, earning your high school equivalency will open doors to more opportunity, because it has the same benefits of a high school diploma. Getting an HSE qualifies you for more jobs, and higher quality jobs, than you would have without the certification. If you’re looking to stay in your current job, you may not get promoted if you don't have an HSE.

  Accomplishment and pride frankly feel good. Obtaining an HSE shows employers, family and friends that you are capable. While it will take some work, achieving an HSE can increase your self-confidence.
