The Home Depot just announced a series of employee benefits updates and business operation standards in response to the COVID-19 crisis that speak volumes to the company's passion, dedication, and commitment to the well-being of their employees and customers during this very challenging moment in our nation's history.
These New Employee Benefits Merit Our Attention!
Okay, so here’s a short list of all the temporary employee benefits the Home Depot Leadership Team just made available to their hourly in-store and distribution center employees. This stuff is unprecedented folks, just take a look...
Home Depot response to COVID-19 (Employee Updates):
- 80 hrs of PTO for FT associates
- 40 hrs pf PTO for PT associates
- 160 hrs of PTO for FT associates 65 yrs or older at risk of COVID-19
- 80 hrs of PTO for PT associates 65 yrs or older at risk of COVID-19
- Unlimited PTO for associates COVID-19 until released by doctor
- 14 days PTO for any associate required to be quarantined
- Extended Dependent Care benefit coverage and waived co-pays
- Double (2X) - Overtime pay for hourly associates
- Weekly $100 Bonus for FT hourly associates (in-store & Distribution Centers)
- Weekly $ 50 Bonus for PT hourly associates (in-store & Distribution Centers)
And to top it off...
This incremental PTO can be used anytime, for any reason, between now and the end of the year, and will be paid out at year-end if not used.

As an ‘Essential Business’ the Home Depot remains focused on customer safety, produce/service accessibility and location convenience initiatives. It’s clear the mean business! Just take a look at the most recent COVID-19 response initiatives and you’ll see what I mean.
Home Depot response to COVID-19 (Community Support Updates):
Voluntary froze pricing of high-demand products nationwide, (WOW!)
Redirected all shipments of N95 masks to be donated to hospitals, healthcare providers and first responders around the country as hospitals made the public aware shortages
Donated millions of dollars in personal protective equipment, (PPE) and more to hospitals, healthcare providers and first responders.
Prioritizing order fulfillment to hospitals, healthcare providers and first responders
Redirecting Merchandising and Supply Chain team resources to globally source quality product and expedite the availability of needed items
Limiting installations to only those that are essential for maintenance and repair
Trained and Advised all Delivery and Home Service associates to follow preventive actions, (hand-washing, disinfecting objects, and carrying hand sanitizer)
Stores and Distribution Centers are also happy to postpone and reschedule installation and other home services already scheduled during this crisis.

I work at home Depot and they give great benefits it's a awesome place to work for
This truly is unprecedented and very honorable of them to do for their employees FT or PT-really does make you understand that even when things go back to normal it will be a new normal,(ie)the way companies protect their employees and customers, pay their employees, and run their self. #we're all in This together should be just that not low paid employees go to work everyday struggle with their personal safety and worry about catching covid-19 and taking it home to their families wow the CEOs of companies sit at home with their families and padded bank accounts all nice and safe. I truly feel sorry for the healthcare employees, low paid employees of grocery stores, hardware stores, etc ... They truly are the heroes of this whole pandemic my hat's off to them 👏👏👍🌟🥂--- & My hat is off to the home Depot as well. Maybe this will set a new standard and start a new trend I hope so for all of our sakes. Y'all stay safe and hope we can return soon to our #"NEW NORMAL"BECAUSE ONE THING'S FOR SURE THINGS ARE DIFFERENT NOWADAYS ✌️🙏👀💬
