Founded in 1973, Federal Express (now abbreviated “FedEx”) is an international delivery and shipping company with many different divisions and sectors across the company. They're also known for their large workforce, with over 239,000 employees worldwide as of 2019. FedEx is also one of the largest contractors for the federal government. Here, we will focus on the hiring and selection process for FedEx Ground, a division that the guarantees day-definite delivery within the United States.

Employee requirements for applying for FedEx Ground positions:

  • Must be 18 years old

  • Able to successfully pass a background check

  • Working verbal and written knowledge of English language

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. (and occasionally, up to 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height; must be able to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Availability:

  • Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Saturday and Sunday availability is required.

For Some Positions:

  • Safe driving record (if applicable to the position)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) file
  • License must not be currently suspended
