Always tell the manager if it's above your pay grade. If you are the manager, then you'll learn to set better boundaries and not care what others think

Keep in mind the experience you are getting for future jobs and McDonald's typically promotes to management from within.

I stayed positive, cause I was getting hours and that pays the bills. If they paid me, like they were supposed to. They didn't, so I'm not with them anymore.
I stayed motivated, because I promise. They need me, and you more than you need them. We're a dime a dozen to them. Mcdonalds is one of the easiest jobs to get. If a Mcdonalds manager doesn't have a grill team, and sandwich team, then that manager has to do that work. Trust me, they aren't trying to do that work.
Don't go into mcdonalds, thinking long term. Estimate a 6 month tour, if you're lucky. Have a new job lined up and ready to jump right into asap after 3 months. McDonalds is an easy job to land, but it's also one of the most cut throat enviroments I can think of, or have experienced.
It's a job, every person is an asset and is valied. But it's also a business, with a very particular and highly toxic nature. Emotional abuse, is part of the job description, I promise.
