LA county shutting down in-person dining What are you thoughts?

With COVID cases on the rise once again, #LosAngeles County has instilled new guidelines that will restrict dining to takeout, delivery, and drive-thru only.

This is leaving a lot of restaurant owners and workers worried for their financial stability for the upcoming holiday season, as this is the second wave of shutdowns since the start of the pandemic.

Closing in person dining is wrong: if the rule is mask OR distance...and people mask AND distance....closing is an admission that the rule is not helpful.

The employees can't keep distance and... know what? This is insane. I'm so tired of trumpeting common sense while infection rates skyrocket and we approach multiple thousands of deaths, DAILY.

We have such clear and abundant points of comparison through every other developed nation on the planet whose citizens would NEVER have even debated this. We need to close EVERYTHING, except the sources of the most basic needs, and we need our leadership to both help us out financially and enforce the closure.

If you want to be pissed at someone, be pissed at Trump and Mitch McConnell for forcing people to die AND kill in order to eat. The "kill" part is what everyone forgets. We are used to a reality where "my risk = my consequence." That's not how this works... CA restaurants literally threaten me and my family so if people can't understand why they have to be closed down, I hope they freakin burn down.

I'm in Buffalo NY and we also shut down on indoor dining. Also gyms, salons and other places like bowling alleys have been closed again. Very soon even non essential businesses will be forced to close again. It's because of PEOPLE not following the guidelines anymore. As soon as we started to open things again, people stopped following the guidelines. Because of their selfishness, everything we went through for months were for nothing and we have to start over again because our Covid rate is now over 6%. Erie County has the highest rate in all of New York, including NYC!

This is a tough one! I can't imagine restaurant staff feels safe being so close to diners without masks on, but in the same breath, how do the restaurants stay afloat? I think public health precautions have to come first right now...

It is not tough at all, if you don't feel comfortable going out, stay home. Where are all the adults. Will you let government decide for you what you can and cannot do?

Now heres a many pronged answer, First and foremost americans have entitlement issues 2nd i think the real question is why as a cou try are we failing this test..most other countries have gone back to a more normal way of life, 3rd epathy in the u.s is almost non existant(i think i read its gone down 76% since the 70s) 4th, 80% of americans because of diet intake are on meds of some sort, out of that 80% ..60% are on more than one type of meds...the rest are just alchoholics..so youd have to ask yourself, are we thinking correctly?.. 5th we declare ourselves a united states but in reality we are divided and self centered..alot of people are out of work or have had hours cut..so it isnt just one industry thats hit hard..a majority of them are....and this goes back to the entitlement issue..are we really living beyond our needs, spending more than what we have?..or need.. As a native american we see the wascicus greed and we know how smart they are, with their words and their sayings...the problem is they never listen to their own words.. One of the most greatest and important of wich are these... United we stand... Divided we fall.

Fact is that no one really knows what actually causes the spread of COVID...if you truly listen to the "authorities." They all have a differing opinion which keeps us all scared and confused. The shut downs have gone on for too long and is ruining the economy plus forcing small businesses to close for good. Instead of these politicians going on serious power trips with their government overreach, let we Americans decide what we want and allow us the freedom to decide how to live our lives. I'm willing to chance it to save jobs, the economy and peoples livelihoods. People are dying from shutdowns and it's not because of COVID...it's because of suicide, depression, drug use, alcoholism, mental health issues brought on by these shut downs.

If the business is actually in compliance in limiting capacity, mask wearing and social distancing it should be allowed to remain open. If it is not, close them down.

S just another act of government foolishness. We don't need more unemployed citizens in this country we need more jobs to become available. There has been nothing put in place by either local or federal government to deal with the upcoming end to all the cares act programs. Why the governor of California wishes to push more people to the unemployment line & possibly the homeless count is beyond anything which makes sense. For those who will be effected by this. I have been a part of both those scenario I'm STILL unemployed. I will pray for you & your loved ones to make it through whatever comes of this decision without too much trauma being suffered.
