I owned a business from 2010-2014 and 2014 until my divorce in 2016. I wouldn't own again with 1 income. Unless it was sure-fire cashflow, especially in this economy. But, if you have the means and the dream... Just be cautious and weigh all the options. Going back into the workforce provided security and stability for me, as I became 1 income. Also lifted the weight of responsibility. I don't mean that in a bad way because I loved my work, employee's, and guest's. But, it can be a lot. (So, if your boss gets crabby end of month/year, cut them some slack šŸ˜€)

Definitely working as a business woman. Its hard but like most.things in life, if you want it bad enough then you'll reach that goal. Until then, just have to deal with working for someone

It depends. Owning can be really hard, specially if you are small and can't take days off

It is great to have your own business however it takes money to make money. I'm ready for a change and I want to help others so I need to build a platform for it.

For me personally...

Pro: schedule flexibility, especially since my daughter plays sports. Con: People always assume business owners have unlimited funds but we pretty much take what's left after payroll & other expenses. Some weeks are good, some weeks have me a little worried.

Been there done that. Ran my business for 25 years. The pros I had a job when no one was hiring. Things were done my way. The cons long hours but at least I got paid. Dealing with employees. And always on the edge of knowing where the next job will come from. Conclusion it really depends on the company you work for. In the end the pros and cons are the same.

I have owned my business for 24 years. I started it in the height of the recession simply because I could not find a job that would pay but I could find work and solve peoples problems. I started small a job here and there but it paid the mortgage. Soon I was working a 100 hrs a week and had 8 employees. It was stressful but I liked to see the results of each job. Today I have scaled way back to take care of my sick wife. But I intend on starting a new business soon.
