They can go ahead and take the credit because I know that it was my doing that they got the credit for so I feel good about that and eventually everything shows its face or it all comes out in the end and I have no need to worry about their taking credit for what I've done because I will get credit for what I've done regardless

It's a compliment, obviously they aren't capable of doing it themselves so i would ask them if i could show them how i acheive my level of crafstmanship. If they already know how and took credit out of pure laziness , well not much can be done at that point. Work ethic and integrity is something you either have or you dont. I would still be cordial maintaing a professional decorum.

Personally, you can only be nice/the bigger person, for so long. What if that person, taking credit for your work. Gets a promotion?

That's a tough one! While I think it's important to maintain equanimity in the office, it's more important still to nurture your own career...

I think an honest, measured, and polite conversation may be necessary to prevent future indiscretions. Start by acknowledging the incident, then gently suggest a mutually beneficial change in behavior.

Something along these lines may strike a good balance: "Hey X, in yesterday's meeting, it seemed like you took credit for Y. I think we should try to give each other credit when we can."

You should be proud of YOUR WORK AND IDEAS, take the credit back, tell whoever you need to tell that it’s your work not theirs. People who take credit for others work and lowly individuals who clearly have to steel other’s accomplishments
