I have reach the legal age to start working, and I was wondering if anyone can share any tips. I just had my first two interviews, I feel a bit weird since everyone is also applying for a summer job. I told the manager that it is my first job and that I was a bit nervous. Though I did make her laugh! But I am super available whenever so I hope that helps me a lot. Please help me out 😅 #firstjob #application #interview
@Raquel Ojeda Follow orders, don't be afraid to ask questions, and work diligently, you'll be fine! Congrats and good luck!
Hi Raquel. Congrats on your first two interviews! Being reliable, meeting work expectations and keeping a positive attitude go a long way in a workplace. Always ask questions if you are unsure about something and dress appropriately. Good luck!!
People will like your candor and your willingness to be employed and try new things. As long as you take your responsibilites seriously and you can impress upon your potential employer that you would be dedicated to your summer job, you will get scooped up right away. Your first job is the stepping stone to your professional life, even if you are still in school, or fully entering the workforce. It matters what job you go for and how well you do your job, even if it's not in the field you will ultimately go into as your career. Good luck, and have fun!
I still feel nervous when I start to work in a new place! If you are not sure, always ask a question. It is better than making a mistake. There is nothing wrong with making mistakes as long as you learn from them.
Hi Raquael,
I encourage you to take your job serious. There are a lot of youth that don't stay at their first job very long because they do not take their job serious. You have to understand that your manager and supervisor is always watching the team and taking notes of the individuals who are succeeding at their responsibilities, but they're also documenting the ones that are constantly late, constantly distracted by their cell phones, or disappear from time to time during their shift. You always want to make a first great impression and you can do that by showing how mature you are by taking your job serious! This will only up doors for you in the future. I hope this helped! Good luck
Congratulations! Listen, watch, and do your best. You will be a great employee
