I'm currently working three jobs to pay the bills and it's starting to kill me. Having one full time job with job security and some benefits would be a dream at this point. I currently work part time at Ross, Starbucks, and working a parking lot. I've asked all my bosses for full time work but they can't help. Any help you can offer is appreciated.

I was in the situation earlier in my life, and it sucks because you seem stuck when you are balancing so much. You probably have the experience to be a supervisor or a manager.

I know it's hard because I've been there as a single mother and worked so many part time jobs and full time jobs and it never is enough to pay the bills! Right, when things seem to be on an upswing I'm magically terminated right when I'm at the point of gaining benefits or a promotion! I'm educated and I'm a hard worker. But, I determined my worth and I have left my comfort zone and I'm entering a whole new career field next month! I'm going to truck driving school! Sit down, figure out what you really want to do and go for it!!

Get your resume together and start applying for full time jobs at other places. You have experience in many areas, and you have a compelling drive and story. Go get one!

Hi @Ken Harvey I’m sorry you are having this challenge but am really impressed with your work ethic. I think a lot of employers will be too.
I think I have bad news and good news for you. Good news: you can definitely find a full time job. Bad news : finding a full time job is itself a job so now you kinda have 4 . But this can be contained to just a month I think.

  • Start by applying to 2-3 jobs each morning . Our jobs section is pretty good for this because we include Ziprecruiter and indeed with our results so you get all jobs possible to choose from. Only do 2-3 or you’ll burn out. Then on lunch breaks call each one (after 48 hours from apply) and ask if they’ve received your application abs if you can interview with the hiring manager around your current schedule. (With zoom & FaceTime this is doable!)
  • after one month of this you will have applied to 60-90 jobs with polite followup - guaranteed to land at least one! But steel yourself. This is a numbers game w lots of rejection. Remember it’s not you- job search just stinks. And remember the fourth job is just for 1 month - then you just might be down to 1!! Good luck Ken I, and a bunch of Jobcasers, are rooting for you. Let us know how it’s going along the way!

Do what you can to make the time to make your resume ATS friendly, and apply for jobs that you are qualified for. If you lose some sleep for a few weeks it could change your life and get you what you want. You can do it!

If you're working all the time, take some days off that are dedicated to searching for a full time job.

Maybe seeing if there is another Starbucks or Ross that has a full-time option that you can transfer to could be helpful!
