Getting a housekeeping job isn't hard it's keeping the job that can be hard. You have a time limit on getting a room clean, specific set ups for items in the room and a standard on how the bed, towels etc should be. You are given a training period in many hotels if you can't do any of these after a certain amount of time you may be terminated.

It is like that at any housekeeping job, Jennie!! I find it faster when I take shortcuts and still get it clean!! For instance, take a wet and dry paper towel to wet the faucets and take the dry one to shine it up! Saves about 5 mins and keep moving! Do all trash first, strip the bed, do your bathroom, dust all furniture, tv etc, vacuum real fast, make your bed and done!

I was hired recently for a housekeeping job in a town near me. I worked alongside a person that had been there for a lot longer than me. After two days I was told that my room cleaning was great but I wasn't fast enough so I was terminated. I don't think I was given enough time to get up to speed. Was told their time allowed per room was 30 minutes.

Not hard at all, as long as you are a hard worker and don't mind a physical job. I loved it because you were basically left alone to do your work and you really don't have much contact with the public.
