How will working a Cashier job help me grow a career?
It will not grow you a career or help you to grow one. Working a cashier job is the means to knowledge and what you choose to do with that knowledge, is what will grow your career. However, to answer your question in short; a cashier's job teaches you skills such as, accounting, credit processing, ability to make deposits, address pricing and any if issues. That same job teaches interactive skills. You learn how to listen, equipment training, even insider knowledge training. You learn to read ppl, you learn to speak clear, you're taught to play nice in this world. Every job you have in life is a building block to your career,. So make every job a learning experience no matter what the job. Above all, always treat yr job with respect
Working as a cashier teaches you good public relations. Which can carry over into many different careers. It teaches you how to deal with the many sides of working with the public. If the cashier position is with a corporate company you can work to be promoted into a higher level position. It also teaches you about team work. All necessary skills in any workplace.
Edwin if the company is part of a chain. That can be your career. Working your way up. If the company isn't part of a large corporation. Then you should be using that time as a cashier to network!! You make your career.
Being a cashier could grow your career in the sales industry but basically it just helps with communication skills and mathematical skills and helps teach you to observe all your surroundings

You will have a variety of customers and you wiii learn how to approach the super friendly and the hostile ones. Get to know the regulars and try to remembered their names. My experience has helped me realize that I am a people person
