Rehabilitation Regulatory Specialist and Clinical

Self employed- May 2018- Have been providing skilled intervention in adults and pediatrics. Specializing in Neurology and oncology. Have served as PRN clinician for Texas Neuro Rehab Centerprovides professional therapy expertise and regulatory knowledge in the development and direction of compliance issues for Rehabilitation Services. Establishes and maintains processes and training to ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory requirements related to occupational and physical therapy services. Conducts and directs compliance reviews and analyses on behalf of the Institutional Compliance Office to ensure compliance with institutional policies, third party payer contracts, and federal and state regulations. In this position I had the responsibility of developing all policy and procedure for the department. I was also assigned with Joint Commission readiness for our department and in 2015-1016 I was responsible for readiness of the division of clinical services, that included 9 departments. In this role I conducted mock surveys along department or division line reporting to the vice president of the Division of Clinical Services. Worked closely with infection control and environmental services to assure compliance readiness. It the department was found to have a deficiency, it was my responsibility to develop an action and put it into place. My role also included being part of the Safety Committee and Utilization review for the hospital. I led the ride out team every year that I was there and was also responsible to develop the teams in case of hurricane. I was also responsible for developing education material and training the department in ICD-10 when that was implemented. The same occurred when the CPT evaluation codes were developed. I held the same requirement of the education and development of "g" codes for the outpatient department. Training new staff to departmental and divisional policy and procedure and had oversight over the onboarding team for all new staff members. Leading the different teams for the development of standards of care for the department. Until we hired a associate director and was placed in the position of director and attended all meetings when the director was not available or out of town.

Development of programming in cognition and vision rehabilitation within outpatient and inpatient setting. Development of survivorship programming within hospital system.
