Independence Excavating, Inc., a nationally recognized industry leader in challenging site development, demolition, environmental remediation and concrete crushing seeks to fill the position of an Estimator to prepare competitive job estimates by interpreting drawings and bid documents and performing take offs for labor, equipment and materials. If you meet the qualifications below please apply:An Estimator is responsible for various functions including, but not limited to:Read, understand and interpret drawings and specificationsSolicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, estimate to be 95% complete prior to formal review with Chief EstimatorPrepare rough schedule of project for determining time frameReview estimated productions with superintendents to finalize the bidOther duties as assignedAptitude/Abilities/Skills: Associates or Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred3-5 years previous related experience is required in heavy civil work Must have strong organizational skills in order to handle the variety of tasks assignedMust develop positive working relationships with owners and project engineers as well as local government officeAbility to perform complete and accurate project take offs and estimatesMust be able to effectively communicate verbally with employees, external vendors, owners and general contractorsMust be able to prepare letters that present a concise and logical point of viewEquipment Utilized: Microsoft Office Software HCSS HeavyBid & HeavyJob, Primavera, P6 Scheduling SoftwareAccounting Software Along with a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive and rich benefits package.
