What You'll Do:
As an intern working with our construction materials group, you will reinforce your education through a practical, hands-on, paid work experience. While your job duties may fluctuate day to day, here are some areas we expect to see you grow in:Observing and documenting field activities related to the construction processSampling, testing, and inspecting soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placementPerforming calculations and data reduction of test results along with draftingUsing field screening equipment and documenting readingsReading maps, following directions, and interpreting engineering and construction plansInteracting and communicating daily with contractors, technicians, and project managersGaining the confidence to be the sole representative of ECS on project sitesWant to experience what this job entails? What We're Looking For:
Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related degreeInterest in how building materials are utilized in the construction processSome serious GRIT and have no problem carrying 40 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist heightMust be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - mileage will be reimbursedPlease note: relocation assistance is not provided for this position
