YFT is seeking one Special Education Teacher to become part of a great team and an administration who values professional development along with serving children and families.Seeking experience in teaching:* 7th & 8th grade History* High School - Econ and Personal Finance* High School - US GovernmentThe Teacher will utilize a variety of instructional strategies, materials and technology to teach and engage students. Will coordinate with LEA?s to maintain, review, schedule and write IEP?s. Assist general education teachers and maintain communication records and school information. Will work closely with other departments to make sure the care of the student is complete and progressive.The primary duty of the Teacher is to utilize all the resources available to help the student succeed. This includes working with and keeping open lines of communication with other Teachers, House Coordinators, Therapists and Case Managers.Qualifications:Must possess at least Master?s degree from an accredited college or university with the emphasis being on Special Education and certification by the Virginia State Department of Education. Bilingual preferred but not required. The organization is large, diverse, experienced and committed to serving the ?least, the lost and the lonely? amongst us. YFT began as a residential home for at-risk boys, grew to serve girls, then reached out with community-based programs in 2012.YFT's residential treatment program for girls and boys 11-18 years of age is located on a beautiful campus located in Bristow, Virginia, thirty-five miles west of Washington D.C. and only two miles south of the historic city of Manassas, VA. Our open campus of 215-acre has eleven beautiful, modern, single family-style homes; an on-campus school; and recreational facilities including a full size gym, weight room, a full size soccer field, basketball courts, and plans for a ropes course.YFT has voluntarily sought and achieved three national accreditations: Council On Accreditation (NY, NY); Joint Commission (Oakbrook Terrace, IL.); and AdvancED (Atlanta, GA.).
