Our client, Virginia's largest institution of higher education, is looking to add a Educational Technology Trainer to their online education division. The Educational Technology Trainer is a full time, 18 month contracted position offering a full benefit package (to include health, dental, 401K). The Educational Technology Trainer to contribute to the development, expansion and maintenance of a comprehensive technology training and development program for faculty and staff.This position will work directly with the Canvas Support and Educational Technology training staff
Provide educational technology training and support to faculty and staff Conduct webinars and provide 1:1 user support on various educational technology tools and integrations Creates user-friendly instructional materials and resources in various formats including resource guide, web pages, and Educational Technology resource courses and videos Works with the Canvas Support team to support educational technology integrations inside of Canvas Evaluate training needs and assess training effectiveness Respond to support tickets generated by users relevant to use of educational technology tools as assigned
Access to home internet with speeds of at least 15 MBPS. Bachelors degree in Instructional Technology or closely related degree 3-5 years of hands-on experience with educational technology tools and Canvas LMS support, preferably in a higher education environment Prior experience in creating resource guides and documentation Prior experience in developing and delivering online training workshops and video tutorials Outstanding oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and user support skills Strong technology skills including expertise using Microsoft 365, Google, Zoom and other productivity tools Experience using Canvas LMS Experience using and supporting video and web conferencing tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams Must be able to work effectively with all levels of faculty and staff Able to work independently and as part of a team Superior customer-service skills; must enjoy helping faculty and staff Demonstrated ability to conduct virtual trainings Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Strong work ethic
