I totally agree, it's a job interview, not a meeting with friends. I think it's disrespectful to come with a coffee or eating gum.

No. Please do not show up eating and drinking at your interview. It places you in the “nonchalant” category right off the bat. It also wastes time in other peoples’ already busy days. If you feel the need to drink coffee at the interview, at least have the decency to also take one for your interviewer and then hope for the best.
