What I don't understand is, How can you invest into your future just for you not to have a future in what you invested in? Get out of school get licensed through the state and be turned down for not having any experience for 2 to 3 years. Then down grade to other positions get phone interviews just for the company to tell you that they have already filled the position. What is really what these people look for?
I agree 1000 percent. Thank you for your post and hang in there, Joseph in Homestead, Florida
I’ve had it too! I’m $85,000 in debt for a Bachelors degree (I have one more semester before I fully graduate) and I can’t get any job offers above minimum wage (9.75/hr)! I’ve got multiple advanced certificates and CPR/First aid, plus ServSafe food handling certifications Which are all required for jobs I apply for, and the problem is companies consider you OVER qualified meaning they don’t want to pay you what YOU’RE worth! They want to start you out paying peanuts instead of a qualified person that would stay throughout their career instead of high turnover. If employers would understand this they would spend less monies paying for training and turnover, and just hire a qualified individual willing to work if paid properly. I’ll never understand the work force and why managers want to pay nothing but in the long run pay more because of turnover. Hire right in the first place and this wouldn’t happen nearly as often.
A drone... Yes people who do not think. Desperate people willing to take abuse..
Yes Crystal I also earned a peer counseling certificate and tried to no avail to get hired or an internship 3 yrs
It’s a bitch
The other issue is if you have many years of experience and no degree they tell you, you need a degree. If you have a degree and no or too little experience they tell you, you have no experience. I have 25 years HR experience and when I apply for a job they tell me either no degree or I am over qualified.
APPS might hire you. Give them a try. They had given me a shot. Good luck!
Thank you, I don't know how to respond to that. I also have the same problem.
That's some bullshit
I do agree, its discouraging. We have to start somewhere! I am felon and finding a job being a felon is very discouraging. No employers want to hire you if you are a felon regardless of your felony, no landlords want to rent to you, Now life seems so much more difficult. How canI work when no one wants to give me the chance. How can I pay for an apartment when employers only see one thing. How am I suppose to be successful in society if I get shut down the moment my criminal history report states I have a felony! I am not a terrible person, I have children, I made some decisions that I cant take it back but I can learn and grow from my experiences. Even if I am constantly reminded of my mistakes because I am judged and turned down due to my past.
