If they offer unemployment jump on that first. Then literally start looking for work EARLY in the morning and as late in the evening as possible (for example, right now it is 9:32 PM CST).

Get with your HR department to get a draft of all of your severance package. Also talk to them about your 401k? You may need to use those funds to bridge over until you receive another offer for employment. There are circumstances in which you can use for emergencies to avoid the 10% penalty for early withdrawal. File for unemployment with your local workforce commission.
