I just recently got a felony at 42 years old. I am having trouble finding a job because of this. Does anyone have any suggestions? #advice #tonsofexperience #Felonies
A large percentage of the people I work with have felonies .
My first thing is please pray and let God handle it. He will open up so many doors for you as he did for me. And I agree go right to your community career center. So many job opportunities there. God bless you Brother in Jesus name...Amen and Amen
Try to connect with a Re-Entry Circle in your area. Call your City information line and ask them about programs for people with a record. You can also ask the Sheriff department for a list of employers who accept those with a record. Ask the Unemployment Office for their APPRENTICESHIP book. Go to the public library and use their list of Databases to search for anything that might help you. And lastly, a few jobs will hire you, DEPENDING upon what you were arrested for and if you're honest with them. I hope this helps you. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP. IT WILL GET BETTER. I HAVE FRIENDS WHO WENT THROUGH THIS TOO.
I have several drug related felonies and I had difficulty finding work for a while until I joined the employment temp agency's and they hired me right away into a good companyThe thing is I joined several in the first couple of days and now they still constanty call me even though I am already placed in a job. They didn't care that I had a felony but be honest with them and they will ask you for your job skills and place you in your ideal job.
Apply to the 2nd chances companies that are accepting felonies. Search for 2nd chances companies. One company I know is Home Depot

If you're applying for a job in Chick-fil-a and you're asked if you have a felony, you can always reply that Jesus was a convicted felon with a crime punishable by death.
