Zoo possibly

Not yet but you can volunteer to work check out pet stores and the zo possibly. Don't do like me I worked at a grocery store for 2 weeks when I was 15, one of my friends came in the started talking abouy my age got me busted they found out I was under age thanked me and fired me. So moral is don't lie. Your day is coming best wishes. 🤣🤣💞

Since you are to young to work maybe you can volunteer at an animal shelter because they are always asking for volunteers and if you have to get your parent's permission I am quite sure they will give the permission and then see how many hours you would be able to do the volunteer work and go from there. Then when you are old enough to work you can always get a job where you were volunteering or another animal place and they can give you a good reference for what you were doing, best of luck to you.

Since you may be too young, I have a tip you can adhere to. Which ever job you are looking to get into, it is always best to watch how employees operate and try to find what makes them successful in their role and what you can learn from it. That way, you can familiarize yourself with the role.
Also being a customer can also help as well because it prepares you for what an average customer wants. I wish you great searching young one.

Hi Ashlynn: Have you discussed this with your parents? Because of your age, you will need them, or someone, to get you to your job.
I think your love of being around animals is great. I know that kennels frequently need volunteers. With summer coming up (not sure when you wrote this but today is April 1) you may be be able to volunteer at a kennel during the summer. I know you want to have a job though, not simply a volunteer situation.
What if you design a flier & advertise in your neighborhood.
"Responsible student will babysit, house sit, pet sit, walk your dog, take out your trash, cut your grass, and perform other tasks around your home."
I admire your initiative & wish you the best!

@Ashlynn Martin Hello and welcome to Jobcase. I know that each state varies. For instance in NYC you must be 14 to have a summer or part time job, and your parent must fill out a DOL (Department of Labor form for your work permit). I am unsure of the state you're in so I am not sure. However at 13 you could possibly do babysitting or even walking dogs or cat sitting. Check with your parents and see what they feel comfortable with you doing. Ask them to check your state laws, and if you are too young to work ask if you can have a dog walking or cat sitting job, and even babysitting.
Good luck !
Stay in school focus on summer jobs. Period
