"Rejection" Notification

When you receive a rejection email, or no response at all, how often do you blame yourself or think you did something wrong?

Go easy on yourself. A “rejection” is not any type of indicator of your value.

You KNOW what you can and will bring to a company and the right company and hiring manager will recognize that.

In addition, there are many moving parts to the hiring process and you as a candidate are simply one of those parts.

There are numerous reasons why a company may have chosen to not move forward with you that have nothing to do with you or how you interviewed.

If you see a pattern of not hearing back, speak with a coach as MAYBE your interview skills need some polishing.

Otherwise, keep moving forward and realize that companies, by passing on you, are making a big mistake and a better opportunity is out there for you.

I wish to God recruiters would stop asking what salary I'm looking for. They know damn well how much they're going to pay whichever employee they choose. One hiring manager said that the interviewer asks you that question on purpose because he/she is deliberately trying to make you sweat. They need to quit playing mind games and hire the person that is the best fit for the job. Period. Right now I can't work outside the home because if we make too much we lose our free VA healthcare, but if that ever resolves itself I will be working remote. Life is too short.

you are not the only one who wants attention, therefore if you get rejected and you want the job, try again. I was rejected like 4 times or so. I still come back because I know it is a job that I do best, until they are tired of seeing me back and forth not giving up. eventually it was given to me. I tried other job with cheaper pay but I am not happy. The salary is too cheap for my bachelor's degree. But it is a job that did not turn me down, however as a nurse I have been trained that if I am the direct caregiver of my patient I should be the only one doing the documentation but my boss hired office personnels that tainted my documents. They erased my documents and are replaced with documents sometimes with faulty grammar under my name. It tainted my internet, sometimes my online classes, it freezes in the middle of a test. I paid for licensing of my access, word excel that allows me to write business letters and they are not working. But dont give up. Be who you are according to what you want to become and what you deserve to become and believe in yourself regardless of what other people think of you

It feels especially difficult for older job seekers. My resume is long and I feel like I'm being perceived as too old even though I have a lot of good experience and can still work well.
