It's been a long time since I've had to find a job. Question: Let's say you have several interviews lined up in the same week. The company you meet with on Tuesday offers you the position. It's acceptable and you don't want to be caught without a job, so you accept. But you keep the rest of your scheduled appointments and are lucky enough to receive a better offer on Friday. Is it ok to then contact the first company and decline/ resign? My friend says absolutely. Have you ever had this happen? If yes. How did you handle it?

Just call and let them know asap so that the company knows they still have a position to fill.

Its okay to rescind the offer. At least I would understand. We just hired someone who kept us waiting because she was weighing her options. It's natural to change your mind if you get a better offer.
