Employers have to pay more. Not has. In any case, you bring nothing to the table, you get nothing in return. And if you still live in California in 2021 that's your own fault. No one cares about you in California. Go to a different state and you will see the difference in appreciation with ease.

Any other place and I would be surprise if McD’s was paying that. Cali has high cost of living is one reason why more live in poverty in that state. $16 an hour is a nice pay for around here, least till inflation hits. What makes this inflation so bad, is that much of it can be traced back to the government policies, from paying people more to stay home, closing businesses down, and printing money are all adding to the price increase of goods and services. The Later is making the dollar worth less. I do wonder how much long can fast foods like McD’s can stay a float before they either have to raise prices or replace people with machines to keep prices low.

That's blanket statement about California not caring. McDonalds are PRIVATELY OWNED. Each is a franchise. It's not so much California as it is the franchise owner being greedy. With the said, the minimum wage should be $25 an hour. The cost of living is crazy because of supply and demand. Kentucky is cheap but then you live in a backward state. Hard situation indeed. Good luck!

Glenda blame your liberal leaders for making the cost of living in California so expensive over the last 30 years

I live in Washington state, where the minimum wage is set at $15 a hour, yet I regularly see jobs posted in my area for $8 an hour. The politicians left and right are so removed from their constituents and so in the pocket of lobbyists for major corporations that I don't expect much change.
