Application Tracking Systems (ATS) has revolutionized the recruiting and hiring process. Far too many qualified applicants are getting overlooked due to this inconsistent rating process leaving them in lost in what's now commonly know as the Employers Black Hole .

Other members have reported success by customizing and optimizing their resumes and application profiles to fit the exact requirement the employers have outlines in the job description but there's really no perfect science on how to perfect this exercise and attract better results. It's all trial and error.
Don't wait for employers to contact you and follow up whenever possible immediately after you apply.
Your particular field is still somewhat competitive. Online application are good but networking and face to face meeting opportunities with hiring managers is better. Have you been to any job fairs this season?
Re-apply wherever you have an opportunity but make sure you check the companies re-application process before you do. Some companies hold an applicants application for a period of time before allowing them to reapply.
