A recent study found that 41% of workers, worldwide, were considering quitting or changing professions this year. That's a lot!
Four signs that you should shift to a new job include:
- Lack of remote working
- No flexibility
- Little attention paid to mental health
- No autonomy
A great quote from this article is, "If you feel that you’re not getting a fair deal in your current job, then don’t be afraid to shop around. A hiring market in favor of job seekers means you might get what you’ve always wished for."

A supervisor belittled me for having an anxiety attack. I work at a call center and this supervisor was pounding on the desk and chair while I was working with a very difficult customer. I asked him nicely to please stop and he got mad. He even went out of his way to drop something on the floor asking if that bugged me too.

Yes, I was asked to lie, but I am an RN and have a license to protect. To me a job is a job, but my license is my life’s bread & butter. I protect it like I protect my child. That same job affected my mental health. A colleague told me that I should quit before I get sick. I vented to him. He left two weeks after I did. I once told a supervisor that they could get a lot more work from the employees if the morale was better. I was told “A job is not responsible for morale”. Then put me in charge of the Team Building team. So I got more work for my effort.

I think another big one is if your employer asks you to do something illegal or unethical. Has anyone run into that type of situation?

I like that you included mental health as a reason to leave a job. I can't say I ever worked for a company that was concerned with the mental health of their employees but it is SO, SO important. Thanks for sharing.

Very true. I have not seen my dentist either in a while.

Hairdressers are looking for new careers. After the law took effect it was to be an hourly wage, plus commissions, salon owners went booth rental. Not easy to pay rent when there’s no business? Who can afford highlights and a haircut? In Orange County average cost of a woman’s cut/color/highlights is 350.00-1200.00. Not in high demand at the moment?

This is the time to be picky, but it won't last forever

At my last job, my boss' job was standing over my shoulder all day. It was annoying. The point on autonomy is so true

Seriously, WFH is here to stay
Looking forward to a Fresh start!
