Once I noticed it was them, I would make a joke and go: hey, you just cut me off in traffic 😆 at least you were in a hurry to get here

Sounds like an old movie. I'd say nothing and read his reaction to seeing me. If he's a good boss he will not say anything and hopefully if you smart enough to control the conversation then you just passed the first point in sales. If he's any good your hired if not you don't need to work for a stiff
