I (used to) work for an apartment complex. One of the benefits offered was "rent free" living (it was automatically taken from my salary) I was recently terminated after letting a friend stay with me for 1 night because she was accompanied by her service animals. Adding insult to injury, I'm facing losing my apartment because of said termination and the property manager is refusing to let me sign a lease due to my "violation" .... is this even legal?! #termination #advice #discrimination

My thoughts are this Evictions can take years to accomplish. (Massachusetts) if done legally. (former landlord) If you google tenets rights you find a list of what a landlord can and can’t do. Meanwhile start looking for a BETTER place to live. Best of luck to you! Sometimes people just suck!

What did the eviction letter say? Have you violated the lease before. Make sure you find your lease, and reread it, before you call Legal Aid.

Do you complete an overnight visitors form? Did you ask the manager for permission to have the visiting pet? Most leases state no visiting pets without approval.

Why were you terminated? Was it the service animal or you allowing visitors to stay overnight?

All employment in many states (California for one) is on an "AT WILL" basis. Google it. It means that we have NO job security, even if we sign a contract.

Sounds like you might have a case. Only a couple of questions. Animal policy at property. Type, size and number of animals. I know a lady who has 5 dogs all registered as therapy animals which she takes everywhere and when a hotel or restaurant won't accept so many animals she sues. By the way they are Great Danes not minipoddles
