It has been some time since I was last on here but I hope everyone is doing well. I have been focusing lately on the word "perseverance". On the outside it seems like a simple word but focusing on the internal DNA, I find the word to be layered with many profound definitions. Far too many people want to give up because the journey is too difficult, or so it seems. Many of us, myself included, at times want to go to a tropical island and forget about the world and all its problems. Yes, an unrealistic solution but we need to be those who can weather the storms and persevere. However, we could relax and rely on the magical problem fixer fairy that is out there! (I hope you detected the sarcasm).
To be a person of perseverance means to be an individual who never gives up until their last breath, no matter how the cards are stacked against them. Let's face it, complaining nor complacency (no matter how good it feels) has never opened up new opportunities. But if we are steadfast in facing our adversities then we are more likely to succeed and experience a beautiful life changing moment. I, like most of you, am in the same position and have decided to be an individual of perseverance and face the challenges ahead no matter the outcome!
Thank you!
Hello my friend Clifton Williams,
You are right on point about perseverance. It is such an important quality for everyone to master because sooner or later life will without doubt hand you circumstances that you are going to have to persevere (and learn from) in order to benefit and move to the next challenge.
Life to me is a great learning and self developing experience. Both require perseverance. Learning is something that is limitless and is pursued each and every moment of our life if we hunger for knowledge. And as we learn, by that taking in of knowledge, we are developing within ourselves by our applying of the knowledge that we've learned.
The trick here is what do we want to learn, and thus develop into in this short time that we exist on this earth? That is the fundamental question. The answer that each of us comes up with, will determined everything. It will either make our life rich with experiences, accomplishments, and filled with memorable moments or something that is frustrating, agonizingly hopeless and unbearable; something that we want to run from, escape, and be done with eventually.
It is truly sad and a waste of this great gift of life to see so many make the choices that gets them the latter of the two outcomes mentioned. They wonder from one struggle to the next complaining, blaming, gripping and exerting negative energy that will poison everything in it's path until it itself is done away with by it's own manifestations of death.
There is where I believe that we must answer the three important questions to a fulfilled life. Who am I? Where did I come from? and the most important one: Where am I going?
When we as individuals can answer all three of these questions, we will come up with our focus, our belief, our hope and our purpose. And all of that together, will determine our faith, or lack of faith. But that is a different question, for a different day...
Clifton, as you and I, and many others out there are persons of faith, the scriptures said "The one that endures to the end will be saved." ...endure, ...persevere. Is it just me or is there a corolation here? Mmm food for thought...
Clifton Williams, it's so good to hear from you, and to benefit from your pearls of wisdom that helps and encourages us to stay the course. I think of you often. Take care of yourself.
Best wishes and blessings to you and your family. May God keep you under his wings and continue to keep you under his loving care.
Warm Regards,
Patrick Coppedge

Clifton Williams it's so great to see you back in the community! We miss you around here! Thanks for the post too, I was actually just thinking about the importance of perseverance the other day. I'm currently in the process of writing a book - it's SO frustrating at times. But I love your reminder about how complacency has never opened up new opportunities. I will continue persevering in writing!
Clifton Williams, I commend you for bringing that word to floracion. It's a continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failures or opposition. I'm in that very storm. It amazes me how life can be a continued battle for me. But GOD has taught me that if we keep looking at our circumstances then we take our eyes off the victory. Trust and believe that my stance is waiting and listening. Say what you want to happen and stand trusting and believing that your CREATOR will move according to how you ask. I know I am!
