How can you get terminated for being honest. When in the beginning thats what their asking for and then cause i gave a open minded opinion i get terminated. Help somebody.

Definitely know the feeling I went into heart failure and was denied a leave that I was entitled to...store manager denied all medical records 3 years later still no better...you're worth something to the right people don't lose faith

Being honest is very important. Only if necessary you should have expressed yourself. You have to decipher whether it is necessary or not. Be careful and pray also.

Some states allow you to file a greviance. Sound like you need a good lawyer. Some of these people in high places are the ones who need to be fired.

Israel, it's a sad state of affairs when honesty gets you terminated. Heck, when I was looking for an apt. some time ago I was rejected because I put on their form that I smoked one cigar a week at work. Of course, they took it to mean I would smoke inside my apt. - are they kidding? Why in the heck would I smoke a cigar in my apt and stink it up? I also, had a boss who I had worked for 15 years ago and he asked me who poured coffee down a certain drain and I said I did. Needless to say he told me 3 times that day not to pour coffee down the drain and I said, 'I heard you the first time'! He basically was teaching his employees to lie and of course he'd be that last one to admit it. All this has taught me is to lie to everyone's face because no one wants to hear bad news or the truth for that matter. You may not agree with this but I do what works. I would also suggest since it was work related don't be so forthcoming with information; just go to work do your job then go home.

Michigan is an “at-will” employment state. This means that absent an employment contract, both the employer and employee are free to terminate the employment at any given time, and for any legitimate purpose. Hence, it may be difficult to file a wrongful termination or wrongful discharge claim if your employment is considered to be at-will.
There are some exceptions to the at-will rule. For example, if a Michigan employer fires an employee for discriminatory reasons, a breach of employment contract, or in retaliation for exercising their employee rights, a Michigan employee may have a legal claim against the employer. For discriminatory purposes, Michigan employers cannot discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, pregnancy, religion, disability, age, marital status, AIDS/HIV, or sickle cell trait
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do but move on to the next job and learn from this situation.

Oh No! Thats not good Israel. I've made the same mistake in the past confusing when or how to best deliver honesty. Everybody always say's they prefer honesty but very few are truly prepared to receive it. Try calling your boss and apologizing.

Ugh! I'm sorry that happened to you Israel. Honesty is definitely important, but I think sometimes we have to watch how we deliver it. I think it's good that you are honest!
