So my newsfeed all day yesterday and this morning is filled with the Elon blunt pics from the Rogan podcast. I am neither employee, partner, nor shareholder of Tesla, but this does get me concerned as a workers advocate that sees an ongoing trend here - that isn't treating workers fairly.

I'm pretty sure, that whatever the laws of California are, that workers on Tesla assembly line are still drug tested. If true, then why is Elon freely smoking?

Here's another observation - Increasingly my business magazines are filled with articles of college-educated 'canabis entrepreneurs' (below) while my prisons remain filled with high-school-educated 'canabis entrepreneurs'. Filled.

I am not informed enough to weigh in on whether Canabis should be legal or not, or even if it is what company policies should be as law transitions - thats not what this post is about. But I am attentive enough to see when equal treatment is yet again not being applied.

Our country is strongest when we strive towards our shared ideals of all people being created equal, of striving for equal opportunity and striving for equal. treatment under the law. Many of us know where this falls short. Many of us may have difference of opinions on where that falls short. Thats ok. Disagreement can be healthy. But we shouldn't differen on the ideals themselves or the intent to strive to attain them.

I am not sure where this is going right now. But I wanted to share this thought with our growing jobcase community. As we grow, we get more powerful. As Jobcase Team empowers people in their worklife, we gain numbers to begin advocating as well. And it sure seems that if workers shouldn't smoke a blunt, neither should Elon. If Elon can smoke then so should workers. And certainly people should not have freedom taken away from them for doing things that others get rewarded for. I'll leave it to lawmakers tp determine policy, and I'll leave it to companies to determine policies that are best for their business- thats not for me to say. But let's maintain our principles of equal treatment! And lets demand those in power strive to do the same.

Well expressed viewpoint. I'm sure you do indeed have opinions on many of those issues, one way or the other. What I like about your point of view is that you are taking the first step in turning disagreement into healthy disagreement. Focusing on what we all should agree on - that people should be treated equally and that rules should apply equally to all - is the first step.

Thanks for sharing your perspective, Fred Goff .
