How will working a Maintenance Technician job help me grow a career?
In the maintenance field being a tech equates to learning, if your goal is to move up into a supervisory role, and eventually management, knowledge and experience of how the machine work, and how to repair them, will be beneficial to those roles, it's easier to run a crew, and a department, if you know what their jobs entail.
Being a Maintenance Tech is always good constant learning with new and old equipment as far as finding the field that you want to pursue will have to be up to you everyone is different and a side not there will always be a huge need for maintenance Techs
Maintenance is continuous learning. You can learn a lot from coworkers. I suggest formal training. Go to a trade school and you will quickly get your money back. Your company may even pay for the training. It is great for me to work with people smarter than me. I love learning. Maintenance allows for a more diverse employment options as well. In very high demand right now. GO FOR IT!
Maintenance is good because you can learn a bit of everything. I does help when you decide to branch out to a choosen field such as electrical, plumbing, or any thing else. You can also become a handy man and do jobs on the side. But Maintenance to me is a great starting job to learn how to fix things, then branch out and you have those skill to push you farther into what ever trade you decide to do for good.
