Life after retail - what are the best options?

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for the advice...

I''m a seasoned retail and sales professional with 15 years experience. I am good at what I do, and though I do enjoy it immensely, I am ready for a change. 💪

I have a passion for outdoor living and almost all of my experience focuses around that. Any advice for what I should do next?? Open to all ideas!

Try driving a river rafting company bus and get at least a class B cdl.. that’s what I did and now 7 years later. I live in the Tetons and work for a great grocery store. Drive summer gigs down to float and hike on my breaks and breathe fresh air! Loving the dream 💭!!! Have a big faith and Gods plan for your life will unfold. He won’t stop you now! Go for it. Life is too short!✌️👼💫

Try selling real estate or for immediate earnings pursue doordash especially if you live in or near a midsize or large city. I understand doordash and uber can be lucrative

Hi Greg, As an HR professional, I would strongly suggest meeting with a job consultant/coach. You will want to look at your strengths/skills - Communication, leadership, customer success focus, etc. and then you can work with them to determine what other careers are aligned with your skill set. It is sometimes hard to get employers to look past your retail so your best bet is going to be getting a strong skill set resume put together so they pay more attention to what you can do instead of focusing so much on the industry you've been working in

Hello Greg,

With your experience and skills, you have a great start towards a new career. Onetonline.org is a job search site that may be helpful to you. Just key in job titles such as "Marketing," "Real Estate," or any other title of interest. This is a good career self-search tool to discover updated job titles.

Best regards,
