Hello! I have a question, what is the best way to answer the question "So, what happened with your last job?" Especially if you got terminated from that job?
Moved away to California
It was a "fire protection" company that did fire sprinkler, fire alarms installations and monitioring. The company downsized to fire sprinkler only. They dropped alarms and monitioring. They layed off myself and one other person.
Be straight up and honest. I can respect and accept the real reason more than something made up. I have hired people many times if they had been terminated at a previous job as long as they are honest with me.

I didn't get terminated, but I left on my own because things was being done to me to force me out for exercising my rights against very personal reasons that I can't discuss and is very private.
well it was because of transportion, and it was a long way from home also a death in family
I was falsely accused of damaging the machine. I was operating a TruPunch 5000, punching out 1/4 in. steel and the machine would hit the steel but not punch all the way through the steel. I informed my teamleader and supervisor what was happening and they wouldn't do anything to help me. Punching out 1/4 in. steel is extremely loud so I was the only one that punch out this material in the plant on night shift, because the people in the offices would complain about it on day shift. I was running the Punch and they came to me with an order of 1/4 steel that had to be done by morning to get galvanized, I didn't want to run the order but I had no choice. I started punching the order and just my luck the machine broke. The punch hit the steel and didn't went through and pushed the bottom of the machine down and jammed it. They knew the machine was not running properly because I told them all, they tried to say I put the wrong tools in the machine and when the machine broke I switched the tools out and put the right tools in after. It was a camera directly in front of the machine. The camera proved I DID NOT SWITCH OUT THE TOOLS, but they still fired me because they had to call in a Technician to fix the machine. The machine wasn't made to punch 1/4 in. steel in the first place, they knew that machine wasn't oiling properly and punching properly because I told them, and They blamed it on me anyway.
I have a job , looking for a better one , welding or fitting in lakeland .
I got site transferred
So you can answer this question in sevveral ways
1: the position was not allowing me to utilize my skins
2: I decided to move on for a different type of job or similiar job with growth potential
Even if they check, the previous company can only confirm that you worked there and for what period of time, they are NOT allowed to tell the other company that you were terminated.
