I'm not sure what type of extraordinary benefits a trucking company would be willing to extend to their drivers but I've never met an OTR Driver that wasn't primarily interested in pay. $/mile is a big deal among drivers, especially contractors, and the competition for a good pay package is very competitive.

First I just want to point out something, the difference between a Class B and A. A class B license is to drive these types of vehicles. Straight trucks, segmented buses, city buses, school buses, tourist buses, box trucks, dump trucks, delivery trucks, and other similar vehicles. Class A license holders can pretty much drive big rigs like 18 wheelers and everything else. However; there are certain types of machinery you need certifications for. To answer your question, better pay is what I will look for. I'm in the process of upgrading my license to a class A. I love driving, it's been a passion of mine ever since I was a teenager. I didn't pursue it then cause of personal reasons. OTR means over the road which is the base for class A holders. A lot of trucking companies are on-demand for drivers. A lot of women are actually starting to get into these types of employment.

I'm not a driver, but I think I'd rather have amazing pay.
