Would you rather have a terrible boss but a great job or a great boss but a terrible job?

I've never had a great job without a bad boss. I've had way too many bad jobs bad bosses. Or some corporate type whose never worked in a warehouse, tries to evaluate the dirt and grime, doesn't compute, sets rules that don't follow the work ethic. I don't despise the guys in the tower, it's the fact of two separate worlds. When it happens, it can turn a boss into a bad boss because of pressure, trickles down to turning the work place like some exercise camp you heard about somewhere.
This is my in-depth perception, I know you wanted one or the other, but life and work don't operate how anyone wants them to. Life is a set of choices, like work. Work is like economics, the choices you make can change the environment, how the rules are going to change the outcome depending on the math. It's truly amazing when you see the math in everything, probability-chance comes natural predictions of the work force. Sorry, I am one of those deep thinkers you've been warned about lol The curse of being Neurologically different. My brain never stops or slows down. Think of having a computer for a brain, I'm sure a geneticist-mathematician gets the joke.
Great boss, terrible job, depending how terrible.
If you have a great boss but terrible job it's going to be easier to make the terrible job become a great job like the boss. If it's a bad boss great job then it will prob end up being a bad job like the boss due to bad management. This I've personally be apart of so experience is what I speak from on this.
I don't know how to answer this but the job may be terrible or your boss maybe but as long as you are doing your work well it doesn't matter weather your job or your boss is terrible or vice versa. Cause you cant have both but you can motivate yourself by taking the insults in the right spirit and handle the job in a better way.
Sounds like we have the makings of a really good TV show: "Terrible bosses, where are they now?"
I can understand you are a community manager. I am facing the same delima working in real estate. I have the job I worked up to for years with a mean horrible insulting boss. Most of his employees quit on a regular basis and are forced to return. In contrast in a totally new career I have a great boss encouraging supportive always says nice things and uses constructive criticism only. All my work experience is not valued were the out of real estate job is. It is a hard decision. What if the new boss becomes like the old boss in time? Are we only a human slave culture meant to work for mean people? Hard decision to agree to work for someone mean that everyone knows is mean. To make it worse I live in right to work.state, I do not have to work for him.
Who cares if your boss is terrible as long as you rock your job and there is nothing to complain about? Then who cares about their personality, you know your job inside and out and believe me they know it to. they may not say it but it's in their head. The better you are at your job the less they have to complain. They may complain because they are nay Sayers. Just want to vent and disperse anger to everyone around them. Chances are it's not even you, they are taking out their own aggression from their personal life and you are their focus.
so, work on and enjoy your job, if you love it that's a good thing.
No matter how bad the job is, it's better than having a bad boss. I try to make my job fun where ever I go. That is very hard to do when your boss stinks.
Right now what I have is a great boss and a terrible job, but I am happy with it!
A terrible boss. It is a gift to love my job. When I love where I spend the majority of my life,I'm affective. Win=Win. The gift that keeps on giving. A terrible boss won't last long anywhere. I can ignore anything for a short while.
