Unemployment Insurance

After 20 weeks of filing for unemployment, I have been asked to provide proof of identification and pay back all the money I have been paid.

I received a notice to appear from MO. Funny that I didn’t have to prove my identity the previous year when they garnished my wages for taxes that I didn’t owe. The whole thing was BS, took me a month to get the in person appointment and ad insult to broke ass injury no one asked to see my ID!! This is exactly how it went: after calling Jefferson City for days/weeks they finally gave me the number for the Job center in Florissant, get appt for following week, show up, workers can’t figure out how to get past the ‘click every box with stop lights’ thing for me to sign in that I’m there-even though I am literally the only non state worker there. Gave me a COVID symptom card to fill out. It had no where to write my name, no one looked at the card after I anonymously checked the boxes. I was told to sit in the waiting area. 15 minutes later the same dude that couldn’t figure out how to log in comes over and asks for my cell number, tells me it will all be over the phone. Still doesn’t ask me for my ID or anything other than my phone number. Another 15 minutes goes by, finally he calls me on my cell which was on stereo since the dude was in cubicle 10 ft away. Asks me some random questions that didn’t make sense like if I went to high school in Edwardsville IL...no, didn’t even live in that state then. I seriously think he had wrong file pulled. Finally seems to get that lined out and comes back over to waiting area and tells me all good, I can go. Having been jerked around for a month over this I questioned whether I was going to get paperwork for my visit. He scribbled down a number and told me to call it in 2-3 business days. Guess what wasn’t on file when I called? After 3 more calls to said number and $6.78 in my checking acct with a child to feed, I finally get a human being on the phone and was able to verify my identity remotely. Now we’re going on 9 weeks and guess what? There’s an. “Issue on file” for my unemployment claim. When will it be resolved? NO IDEA!!! they have literally told me they have no idea. I’m going to lose my car and my house, which I’ve told them. The response I get? They take calls all day with people saying the exact same thing. And apparently the civil servants (keep that in mind) could give a shit less. We pay for them, we elect them to manage a fund, an insurance fund, that WE PAY INTO, and you don’t have a timeline? Then deny it so I can file federally. “That’s not how it works ma’am”. Then how does it work?! Cause this right here is not working! The bank doesn’t accept “we do not have a timeline “ bullshit answer. Our government and their antics is what is not working.

Did you send them a photo of your i.d. front, back, and a shot of you holding it next to your face, and a copy of your s.s.card?

I was given a letter of approval.. Filed every week for months and I STILL have not recieved a penny.. What happened to being paid while investigating? Why approve me then not pay me? I can NEVER get through the 866 number they tell you to call.. Always get everyone is busy try your call again later. Like what am I to do if I cannot reach anyone and they owe me over 3 months of pay?

Your not the only one.....they approved and paid my boyfriends weekly claims to the tune of $20,000 plus and then less than 30 datz before the PUA was scheduled to end on the 26 th of Dec they are sending him a Fact Fi ding Letter wanting him to prove his residency in the State of Hawai’i and that he is an independent contractor!!!!! We missed the deadline trying to reach the person he had been doing work for when the COVID began and his contract got placed on hold......Now they want him to pay all that back and pay taxes on it to boot! What a big farce! State and government scam to the people!

Hi, I'm Mary. My daughter works at the Medford office. She has developed a form for people who get lost in the process. It helps to know what to do when you don't know what to do. Her name is Bridget

I was a cashier at a gas station.I took a leave of absent because my whole family was high risk. Both my mother in law and my father in law have COPD both up in they 80s. They both have more health problems then just COPD. My husband has COPD and has no spleen so that puts him at high risk. Myself I have type 2 diabetes so I'm high risk of covid 19 virus. I was approved for 18 weeks. After 5 weeks they unapproved me and now want me to pay back $7333.00. I put a appeal in back in July and I haven't heard anything about that the only thing they say is they are working on it. They also told me to keep filing my weekly claims.
