On 07/15/17, I was hit by a car while walking. God was too GREAT to me! I didn't have any broken bones, but had a fractured pelvis/ lower back. I ended up in a wheelchair for three months! I wasnt eligible for disability because my employer doesn't take out taxes. Thank God for family! My family paid my rent, bills, and bought food for me or brought cooked food to me. I'm ever so thankful! My boss welcomed me back to work! My doctors release date was 10/02/17. My boss saved a case for me and I began work on 10/04/17. God is too AWESOME! In addition, my eldest became engaged in Paris! I'm super happy and excited about life!

Of course, we are all happy that when any of us gets back to work. However, I am a believer in the Separation of Church and State...so, although this is an optimistic testimony, it is fair to all that we keep this site focused on Employment and the Job Search for people of all faiths and beliefs.
Also, here are a couple of questions from this uplifting yet confusing anecdote: 1.) SSI/Disability is for US Citizens who work, are injured or medically disabled for greater than six months. Private disability insurance would have covered this injury, as would any Personal Injury payments from the Driver's insurance company, if he/she were caught;
2.) An employer that doesn't take out SSI contributions (or state taxes) from your payroll check is not legally an employer, is it?;
3.) A fractured pelvis is actually a broken bone.

Family and friends are the greatest gifts aren't they? It's wonderful they supported you. Congrats again on all the wonderful news in your life, you deserve it.
Thankfully God is with you. I'm guessing yiou work on a1099 which is why your boss doesn't take it taxes , thou must file them yourself.??? I suggest you meet with a business advisor who will give you the correct advice for paying taxes as well as obtaining much needed insurance. Accidents happen that's why they're called accidents is always best to be prepared for them. Good luck and God bless you!
