The same happened to me. Just submit everything they ask for and give it a few days to kick back in. If they dont call or email a state rep and see if they can help. I fortunately got in contact with a state rep that was good and within 2 days had a deposit. I think an email is best. And be polite.

Hi Jocelyn, thank you for your words of wisdom. I am ALWAYS polite to them because I realize they are dealing with a lot of angry folks right now and getting an earful. I've called several times in the last two days. I did reach someone who sent me a link on the site so I could upload verification of identity. Then they tried to get me to a Tier 2 rep. The call drops after awhile. It's so frustrating, but at least they know I've been calling in and have my identification now. However, they said it can take up to 3 weeks once that's been uploaded. I'm calling again to see if I can get through to a tier two rep. This is like a full-time job.

It is a full-time job getting in touch with UIA. I agree. Also,, per @Nicole Hillebrandt 's response about uploading your ID to the link . . . after you have done that, make SURE you put a note or email to UIA with a subject line, stating that you have submitted your ID. And if you fax it in, ensure that you put a COPY of the Fax Receipt as an Attachment to that email (which is inside of your UIA account), so that you have a record for them.

You should get payment around the time of your next certification, as that is when they look at your claim, again, for proof of ID and to see if you adhered to UIA's response.

Hello everyone. The reason why your, ID is required, is because of the fraud that has taken place. If you can't upload it then you will have to mail your ID and a bill, bank statement. You will have a appeal date. You will speak to a judge over the phone. But continue to do your claims. I just went through this process.

Me too. All of a sudden I need to show proof of my identity. Now I can't get no benefits until I do

Same thing is happening to me right now. So what you are saying is the fraudulent thieves out there are the cause of this ? I have bills and this isn’t going to turn out well for me ! Hell I need a job maybe they should train and hire more people to help!

We had the same problem due to possible ID theft. After many calls and being on hold for hours they finally told us to upload ID doc's to the EDD site. It was very easy! Once you sign in you should see a buttuon to Upload ID with drop downs showing acceptable doc's.

The rules changed also without notice. Now the #1 ID is a COPY of Social Security Card and #2 can be Drivers License, Pass port, Birth cert ... I have to request a new copy of my SS card and that takes time. 10 weeks of payment pending so far. Not getting too many bills paid.

By the way, I checked my account again and they did mail out a card (which is above), however they said to look out on the 6th for "further ways to verify my identity". I've given everything but my DNA. Thankfully I have a current passport and social security on hand, but this is becoming unconscionable to the people that are not able to have paperwork handy or a way to get it to them easily.
