Agreed…colleagues can really make or break a work environment, no matter what the pay is. I’d rather work with a great group, like those I worked with at Verizon, with average pay, than with the hospital I’m at now, making far more, but with crappy co-workers (no all, haha) and piss poor management (all)

Yes, lots of times. If you work in Social Work or higher education, you really need colleagues to have your back and you should have theirs. My last higher ed experience was horrible....what made it ok is my colleagues.
