I learned something shocking but true today, so I'm going to back up a couple of days ago I called Dollar general to check up on the status of my application and (fast forward to today) the manager called me today asking how I submitted my application,so I let her know that I used linked to submit it,and she gave me the advice to go to the companies web page and submit it directly from there because those other sites like Linked, snagajob, monster jobs... Do not send your application to the hiring employers. A little food for thought for my fellow job seekers! Go straight to the companies web page and apply. I will be keeping my Faith and praying I get this job. Next step is reviewing my application and a background check which I know I will pass( clean record, never been arrested in my life).I will keep you all posted with fallow ups Thank you all for being supportive and helping me with your great advice and other leads to try

Go in person, directly to the manager twice a week . ( out to lunch if needed) HR departments will often put your application in the circular file .and it will, never reach the person needing help at the company

I started going to websites, as well as sending my resume via USPS. I had a feeling that this was happening. Thank you for justifying what I have been thinking.

Thank you Sarah for sharing this advice. I use Indeed and my application is sent straight to the employer and usually get a response back same day or few days later. You can try them as well. Best of luck!

I’m very surprised about LinkedIn as I was able to get a few responses from employers who posted jobs on there recently. If the “apply” link sends me to an ATS website I can usually tell that my application is being tossed into a black hole.

To me personally, it seems like you can do better than Dollar General. Just saying...don’t sell yourself short

I'm sure you will get the job, but always keep your options open. and yes, i am noticing that too, i get more responses from LINKEDIN.COM and INDEED.COM than i do from the company websites anyway. good luck
