I have always had multiple streams (paper routes, vending machines, etc) that never produce much income, but every trickle helps. I have been selling online since 2005 on websites like biblio, ebay, textbookrush, and Abe. I quit selling on ABE when they made selling more expensive (fees etc). A few years back they were bought by Amazon. I do not shop with Amazon (I also don't shop at many stores)as I do not like the company's chokehold on the industry. As such I am not getting the potential sale base I need. Recently I was offered a chance to sell on ABE (which also puts me on Amazon) for a free trial period of two months (cost is $60 a month plus % of sales). From my understanding I would have to list everything on their cloud & if I cancel all of my information will be deleted. So I would have to duplicate all of my inventory. ABE/Amazon has the potential to move this side job into a livable wage. I would love to be able to do that, but I wonder if this would be a moral slippery slope. Should I continue to be a small voice against the machine or just cave in so I can afford to live? #smallbusiness
